Rhodes Scholars Sailing Dinner 2009

Historically, Rhodes Scholars sailed to England on the QE2. Alas, the illustrious five-day passage of the Atlantic by oceanliner is no longer. Scholars now simply and swiftly take flight to the UK, but the decorous title given their last supper in Canada has held on through the ages.

In late September each year, the newly elected class of Scholars gathers in Ottawa for a weekend, exploring Canada's capital and enjoying tours of the Supreme Court, National Gallery, and Museum of Civilization. On the eve of their departure for Oxford, they are joined by Rhodes Scholars from many eras for a special farewell dinner.

This year's sailing dinner will be held on September 26. All Rhodes alumni are warmly invited to attend.
