Amol Verma

Amol has just graduated from medical school at the University of Toronto where he served as valedictorian and class president. Originally from Halifax, Nova Scotia, Amol pursued his undergraduate degree in Microbiology and Immunology from Dalhousie University where he did research in Transplantation Immunology. Amol is passionate about building healthy communities and to that end he has taught trauma relief programs in Canada, Mexico and Kenya with the non-profit Art of Living Foundation. He is also working with a team of health professional students to establish a student-led clinic for the homeless in Toronto. At Oxford, Amol will be reading for an MPhil in Economic and Social History at St. Hilda's College. He intends to work as doctor in internal medicine and hopes to be actively engaged in making health policy.
