Stephen Aylward brings a background in political theory and philosophy developed at McGill University to his study of law at St. Hilda's College. Stephen has been heavily involved in Amnesty International in leadership positions from his native St. John's to Montreal, as well as serving as a delegate to the International Council Meeting of AI in 2007 in Mexico City. He plans to apply the theoretical frameworks he has encountered in his study of philosophy in Canada and Germany, where he spent the 2007/08 year on academic exchange, to problems in the field of refugee and immigration law. Stephen is also an accomplished mandolinist and choral singer, as well as a long-distance runner, having competed in the 2008 Montreal Oasis Half-Marathon.
