Alysia Garmulewicz will be reading for a MPhil in Geography and the Environment at Brasenose College in the fall of 2009. Alysia is interested in governance for sustainability, exploring ways to redesign our political systems to better lead the transition towards a sustainable future. Alysia is the organizer of the World Changing Careers symposium, an event focused on youth careers for sustainability taking place July 23rd-27th at the University of British Columbia, in Vancouver, BC. In 2005, Alysia organized the Canadian Youth Climate Change Conference, and was a youth representative on the official Canadian Delegation at the 2005 United Nations Climate Change Conference. Alysia has participated on student expeditions to the Antarctic (2002) and the Arctic (2005) to study climate change. She has also competed nationally in cross-country ski racing, and enjoys outdoor sports.
