Alberta & Merton College, Class of 2009
DPhil in Physical Chemistry
Dartmouth College: BA in Chemistry and Physics, minor in Biology

Kathryn Twyman completed her BA in Chemistry and Physics at Dartmouth College, and intends to read for a DPhil in Physical Chemistry at Oxford. She will be researching ion-neutral reactions in ultracold Chemistry and Rydberg molecules at solid surfaces. While at Dartmouth, she spent many hours on the Connecticut River rowing with the crew team, fitting in some hiking in the Appalachian Mountains whenever possible. She volunteered with a program called Bike and Build during the summer of 2006, bicycling from ocean to ocean across North America to raise money and awareness for affordable housing. The team periodically stopped to help build homes with Habitat for Humanity affiliates and local housing organizations throughout the trip. While on a language study abroad program to Barcelona, Spain, she biked across northern Spain along the Camino de Santiago, an ancient pilgrimage route from Pamplona to Santiago.
